DavidoffDom Perignon
Description
The Davidoff Dom Perignon is a genuine piece of cigar history. Zino Davidoff introduced it in 1977, rolled at the El Laguito factory in Havana and named it after the champagne rather than a Bordeaux vineyard, breaking from the naming convention used across the rest of his Chateau series.
Davidoff's Cuban cigars were only ever made between 1968 and 1991, ending when Zino Davidoff moved production to the Dominican Republic over quality concerns with Cubatabaco. The Dom Perignon itself was discontinued in 1989, ahead of that final split. It never returned once the brand shifted entirely to Dominican production. Rolled on the Julieta No. 2 vitola, it originally carried no band at all until around 1980 and was packaged in a semi boite nature box of 10 or 25 cigars, or in petacas of four.
